Exciting Projects

•July 2, 2006 • Leave a Comment

So I have always been interested in Fashion Design etc., I have been designing clothes since i was about 7. My mum used to own a clothing store on the island I grew up on, so I have been around fashion for a long time. So one of my best friends, Ash, and I are going to start our on small business on the side. Because we are both artists (and have been fo rs while), we are going to start with designs on Tshirts, and whatnot. We will likely be calling ourselves Ferocious Feline. It will take some time before we are actually up and running, but I think we can do it. It will be a fun project for my spare time, as well as all the other projects I have planned. It looks like its going to be a busy summer!!

Amnesty International – Working To Protect Human Rights Worldwide

Thought I would also bring the rights into the forum tonight as well. Here is an organization that i have recently joined. I feel they work hard and really do achieve amazing things. Even though they cant completely change the world, they do change many lives that are put in peril and they give back human rights to many people who have had them wrongfully taken away from them. Please take a look at thier site and see whats really going on in the world. I will likely post a lot about human rights and the different Amnesty events I go to.

Intro To GIRberbob

I thought i should post a good description of our cat, whom i will likely post about a lot.

GIRberbob Jetson is an essential part of our family. He came into our lives after a tragic accident; our previous cat fell off our balcony, which was on the 14th floor. Anyways, Girber was sitting in the SPCA so I grabbed him. He is far to smart for his own good. He is an indoor cat, but I frequently take him outside on his harness and lead. He likes to take walks to the nearby park and check out the Canadian Geese and Waterfalls. When we got him, we were still in the highrise apt. We were so anal about keeping him off the deck after our last cat problem, and so we had to keep the doors closed, and that apt was HOT! I was worried the poor kitty would over heat so i made him a summer bed out of my large ice pack. He loved it, used to sleep on it for hours. Now he is so big that he wouldnt be able to fit on the ice pack.

To the left, another photo of kitten GIRber, on his first harness that I made out of some plastic twine. He used to travel to my mum’s house with me on his harness, he’s excellent with travelling. As you can see he was a pretty small cat. He had the smallest teeth as a baby. I remember one instance at my mums house, his fangs were rather loose. It was pretty funny to see him with a front tooth sticking vertically out of his mouth. He’s quite a character.
Needless to say he grew, and grew and grew. Now he is HUGE, but not fat. No matter how much food i put out he always stays slim. Maybe its the crazy amount of energy he uses. I spend hours play games with him, Hide and seek, catch, fetch, and numerous other untitled games. Perhaps i should explain the origin of his name and why i type GIRberbob, rather than Girberbob. Originally he was named Jet by the SPCA because he was so fast. I wasnt happy with that name and thought Jetson would suit more, but i didnt feel right. Than Jessy suggested the name GIR, which is a robot character on Invader Zim. I do, however, like names that are more than one syllable, and somehow, the name GIRberbob evolved on its own. I like to accentuate the GIR since he is a lot like that character, with one acception, he’s extremely smart. He is able to learn routines withing 2-3 days, and my next challenge for him will be toilet training. I’m sure I will let you know if it works or not. Anyways, this is a pretty long post so I will wrap it up. GIRberbob is a very handsome cat, and it’s wonderful to have a friend like him with us.

This is the first post of my blog. I’m not sure what will come out of this, but why dont we just sit back, have a cup of tea, and see how it evolves on its own.
